the intro.

Hi there!

So this time, I want to let you in on a little. The whole who are we, perhaps a brief why are we and somewhere in there, we will pop a what are we moment… maybe a little bit about me, then feel free to ask anything else and I’ll talk about it in the coming podcast (yes they’re making a come back).

Let’s start with who we are, and who am I. First off, I tend to say ‘we’ a lot here, and on the other interfaces of this beautiful website, the word is everywhere. Despite the fact that TheBdrop is one person, personally, I’m manifesting the day that fact provides the same surprise that Tame Impala gave me when I found out that ‘they’ were only one cool dude. Nonetheless, I’m one woman (in moments, every woman), Isabella. The art nerd, but not really an art nerd, just a girl who’s obsessed with the flow state. The girl who believes on some days that she can, from the wise words of Miley Cyrus, move mountains, and on others feel as though rolling out of bed is a bit of a misherrino (for those wondering, it’s “mission” smh). Either way, every day is an adventure where the future meets the present. The place where myself, you or anyone can decide what we do with the moment we’re in.

Aside from that, this one gal has a dream! Of a holistic view towards health with art making at its core, an approach that is accessible to all people. Through teaching and reminding individuals of the benefits of exploring various mediums and processes surrounding creating. We together can mobilise and publicise the conversation. What makes you feel good when you’re creating art? Inevitably provoking curiosity to explore that question and themselves. This question also highlights the operations of forming a piece rather than the outcome. Although I’ve only said “art” this term, at least in this space is inclusive of journaling, painting, writing, drawing, collaging, sculpting, and even mediums like music or film production, among many more incredible forms because the act of creating is much more important than the output or time used.

In other news, TheBdrop what is that name? I know it’s waltzed through your mind at some point, and if you haven’t… well I’m going to talk about it either way. Sometimes I think I could or should change it. If you don’t think about it, it’s my name, nothing more and nothing less. Though, if you ask me, it has a million different meanings. The first and literal reason is Theneedledrop, yknow.. the internets busiest music nerd. Give him a lil search (I’m really out here advertising to some dude whos videos I haven’t seen in years). Anthony, if you’re reading this, you will always have a place in my heart (hehe <3). Soo yeah, there was that and the animal, bees are pretty effn cool with the whole pollination and honey thing going on. Not to mention Barry Bee Benson, the most iconic little jazz meme ever. Adding to the musical theme of the name. Think about the best beat drop you’ve ever heard, I want TheBdrop to be symbolic of that feeling and inspire people to create that for themselves.

Apologies for being the person who jumps head first into things, only to think sometime after. i appreciate you!!!

Ciao :)

Should’ve written an intro to the brand.

Hi. Welcome to this thing we’ll call a blog. :)

I want to talk about one thing in particular, and I may repeat myself a little or venture off-topic (I’m new, leave me be) as you do when you’re passionate and when these thoughts often float around your mind. Full steam ahead with the whole timeline thing that’s not a thing, but definitely feels like one. Maybe it is a result of having been born into the digital age. A time when everything was beginning to move faster, with the internet speeding up ‘communication and connectivity’ and access to information being no further than your pocket. In contrast, slowly jacking with every brain’s reward system and sense of control.

It's pretty bizarre how social media has woven its way into so many individual lives, despite the different experiences taking place each day. Something to think about, according to research conducted by Associate Professor Tanya Notley et al., four in five Australian adults are using three or more media platforms per week. Yet, all five have different lives and daily happenings. How has social media become the only constant in so many lives? I ask this question rhetorically, for you to ask yourself why you use it and if what you’re doing online can take another form offline.

Moving on to touch on the whole timeline concept..

This topic may come up again in the future of this blog. Just saying. Aside from that, notice how everyone with access to digital media happens to spend so much time using social media. I wonder how many of those people have felt that dreaded 'life delay’. Personally, there’s been many moments of existential crisis because I, myself, am not sure of the trajectory of my life, thinking what I am doing in this portion of my life is not enough, and is not meaningful when it really is. But seeing people do things you’re not can be conflicting. Not to say this sort of feeling wasn’t existent both the digital age (there’s more I want to say about this later), but RIGHT NOW.. it feels different because we are experiencing it with little to no warning (but who could warn us).

Sorry for the moment of meltdown… Look, I don’t want to think of another way of saying this, BABES, YOUR LIFE IS YOUR JOURNEY, AND NONE OF THIS SH*T IS LINEAR. You’re wherever you’re at for a reason. Let’s say you look back to this time last year. You were NOT the same version of yourself that you are today. I know there are so many things you want to do, but one step at a time, one day at a time. You will get there, meanwhile, work on acknowledging the moments that surround you. I believe in you!

Yours truly,
